How I structure my prospecting videos

Videos…and how I use them for prospecting.
By Troy Munson
Just me making some videos (don’t worry, normally i just use the macbook camera)
I love using videos in sales. Not only for prospecting, but throughout the entire sales cycle. However, today you’ll learn how I use them in prospecting, the structure I’ve followed for years, and an example of how the structure sounds. Personally, I use Sendspark but these tools are great too!
Fun fact before we get into it: The largest new logo deal ever closed at Metadata started from a prospecting video of mine. It was $208,000 and some change and the video was sent in a LinkedIn DM.
Here’s what you’re in for:
Why you should make prospecting videos.
How I structure my prospecting videos.
An example of how it sounds.
Here’s the painfully obvious reason why YOU SHOULD be using videos in your outbound process..
I’m Drake. You’re Lil Yachty.
It makes you stand out, goofball! In a world where AI SDR’s are hotter than Arizona & every email sounds the same, the easiest way to book meetings (and keep your job) is to prove you’re a human. A pro tip: I personally like to draw their company logo on a whiteboard in the thumbnail. This has my highest reply rate.
ps - my drawings suck 99% of the time so don’t worry about not being artistic.
How I Structure My Videos
I’ve tried over a dozen different video structures and this one structure gives me the best results:
Start with something personalized
Create a hook
Tell a story/use case
The ask
So Troy.. what does that sound like?
Here you go:
“Hey Troy, read your company’s blog this morning and noticed that your CEO is starting to focus on going up market.
73% of sales leaders are underprepared when going up market because they don’t have a strong grasp on which accounts to focus on first.
I just helped [COMPANY] break into 57% of their top accounts in one quarter by showing them where to focus their outbound efforts.
Worth chatting about this?”
IT’S JUST AS SIMPLE AS THAT.
(by the way, to stay on brand with the above example, these companies help with automating account research)
Now, here’s an EXAMPLE of how it sounds
I’m not sure what more I can give you on how to structure the videos after providing you with this example.
I’m giving you the exact verbiage and structure, now make it your own and book some meetings!
If you have ANY questions about video prospecting - respond to this newsletter :)
ps - if you want me to critique yours. respond to this. i cant respond to everyone!
Next time we’ll be talking about..
How to use video deeper into the sales cycle
Thanks for spending part of your day with Dimmo! See you next time — Troy
P.S. what specifically do you want me to write about regarding sales?
