Texting. To do or not to do?

To do, silly. Always. Every single time. No question.

Text your champions, k? Ttyl!

What’s HOT now?: AI SDRs. Yup. You see it everywhere. Quite a controversial topic but a space that is heating up. I don’t believe in AI SDRs that only automate “personalized” messaging. However, I do believe in AI SDRs that use relevant signals to do outreach when the time is right. So, I wanted to share with you:

COLD OUTBOUND DEMO DAY ON 3/19.

Literally, the hottest outbound tech for 2025.

Here’s what you’re in for:

  • Why texting champions is important

  • The two ways I get on a text-level relationship

Why should you text your champions?

Nooo not because you’re #besties with them… but because your win rate will double if you can get them to text you. Here are three things I’ve learned about this whole texting thing:

  1. If they’re 100% against texting, it typically means you won’t win the deal OR you have a large uphill battle to get the deal done.

  2. People are becoming more open to texting as more and more decision makers are millennials (wattup my fellow millennials!)

  3. It’s really uncomfortable asking to move to text. But when you do it 2-3 times and realize that if they say yes, you’ve more than likely won the deal.

Now, let me show you two ways to get on a text level relationship with your prospects/customers.

Two Ways to Text Your Prospects/Customers :

1. Use their signature

Many times, especially when selling upmarket into enterprise accounts, people will have their number in their signature. This is the easiest way to get get on a text level relationship.

If you receive an email with their number in their signature, shoot them a text and say:

“Hey [Name] - just got your email. Not in front of my computer right now but will respond as soon as I can!”

Yup. That’s it.

2. Just ASK!!

Sounds obvious, right? That’s because it is. You will never get things you don’t ask for. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING - ASK WHILE ON A CALL/ZOOM WITH THEM.

But.. if you HAVE to email to ask.. fine. But this will dramatically lower the chances of getting to a text-level relationship.

Here’s what I say:

“Hey Name - if you’re anything like me you’re sick of all of the noise in your inbox. Would you be against me sending you a text about important topics so you don’t miss anything in your inbox?”

…and just like that.

There is a big chance you’re now on a text level relationship with your customer.

Additional Tip…

Since you’re still here.. one quick tip:

Don’t just stop at texting your champion. If you can text with legal and procurement as well. This speeds up all of my large deals.

Use the two techniques above to do this :)

ps - I read all responses so if you have any questions, let me know :)

Thanks for spending part of your day with me! See you next time — Troy

P.S. i luv you
